This is our e-mail to Congressman Al Green:
With global warming, there will be more places hit with fires, floods and heat waves. I propose a multi-national tax paid response team with bulldozers, food, medicine, water and trained people ready to go. There would warehouses with groceries, water, medical supplies and everything else. The world’s armed forces could get logistic training.
The response teams would respond to disasters anywhere in the world. When they go to Sudan, Gaza or southern Lebanon, they will need military escort.
We will always need charities but the heavy lifting will come from the taxpayers on an approved budget. Train people to learn a language.
At the same time, fund green projects that will reverse global warming.
Reflections from Medellin:
The damage here in Colombia is more extensive than we originally thought. Damage in or near Medellin has been negligible. We had bags with our passports, credit cards and medicine by the front door for a rapid departure. We have returned all these things to their customary places.
