When I was a teenager and young adult, I looked at the One Percent as our society’s guardians, smart people looking to help everybody.
In fact, they are sociopaths who would bring back slavery if they could get away with it. They militate against regulations that would protect the working people from exploitation and environmental harm. They put their money in tax havens and DT gives them tax breaks to boot.
Three men have as much wealth as 160 million Americans but they have convinced the DT voters and some others that it is the immigrant, the gays, the black people and the brown people are picking their pockets.
The One Percent have de facto immunity from criminal prosecution. When was the last time that a rich person was executed? Are there poor people in the Epstein files?
Now they want unregulated AI. Bernie Sanders and AOC want regulation.
