This is the e-mail that I sent to the two Texas senators and my congressman.
Global warming has become personal. I was a camper in Kerr County in the summers, 1956, 1957 and 1958 at Texas Catholic Boys Camp (TECABOCA). In 1960, I returned to work in the kitchen.
I had a happy childhood. My time at St. Thomas High School in Houston was a treasure. When I was starting to get serious about becoming a recovering alcoholic, I remembered peak periods in my life before my experience with alcohol. TECABOCA and other teenager experiences were major inspirations.
Texas highway 27 between Ingram and the Tecaboca entrance is especially pretty. There is a roadside park overlooking the camp.
The Arcadia Theater and antique shops on Water Street were favorite places. I wonder what they will look like when I see them the next time.
I had been attending Twelve Step meetings in Kerrville since 1989.
Severe global warming due to human activity has been occurring for several decades. For those who chose to ignore the scientific findings and storm damage acceleration from the insurance companies, look at the world’s glaciers in 1900 and look at them now. See NASA Arctic Ocean summer photos in 1970 and now.
Now I am a single issue voter. I am urging friends and relatives to support candidates who want to reverse global warming which means subsidizing alternative fuels and taxing rich individuals and major corporations like we did when Dwight Eisenhower was president. Since three Americans have wealth equal to 160 million, there are resources available through income tax reform.
Human beings have faced severe challenges before in recovering from the Great Depression and achieving victory over the Axis Powers. The Big Three mobilized to churn out fighter aircraft, tanks, artillery, machine guns and everything else to achieve Allied victory. It is time for people alive today to make the Great Transformation to abolish poverty and reverse global warming.
I offer a Second Marshall Plan to end poverty everywhere to finance soil conservation and forestation projects. An additional benefit is that no one will cross the deserts in northern Mexico or traverse the Mediterranean in non-seaworthy ships when they have good jobs at home. Poverty abolition beats wall construction every day.
More funds will become available when we reduce our nuclear stockpile from 5,300 to 1,000 and our overseas military bases from 750 to 100.
I will call 202 224 2934 on Thursday afternoon and ask to speak to your environmental specialist.
