In preparing this article, reporters spent much time at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas where I was a freshman in 1962-1963.

I return from time to time, sit in on classes and visit friends. There are liberal professors.

Atchison is a pretty place with old mansions. I usually visit in October to see the fall colors.
