The Republicans, especially DT, give tax breaks to the rich and are surprised when we have budget deficits. It is time for President Biden to offer a legislation that would close the loopholes and raise the rates for the rich.

Some years back there was a commission on deciding which military bases to close in the US. The Congress voted on the entire package with no amendments or exceptions. Do the same with the Income Tax Code, with an up or down vote.

I was born in Houston in 1944. As a child, I remember the prosperity that we had with Ike when rich people and major corporations paid taxes in significant amounts.
