Mom and Dad got married there on February 28, 1942. There was a reception breakfast about 3500 Broadway. In the photos, you can see the Ambassador Hotel on the west side. The Ambassador has had lofts for many years. When I visited in 2007, the restaurant had become a camera shop.
In 1945, they had a prayer service at Redemptorist. A lady walking by remarked to a priest, ‘’Listen to those fools praying for peace. We have never had it so good.’’
In 1969, Tommy James and the Shondells showed everybody what a world without war looks like when they sang Crystal Blue Persuasion. I encourage you to play this song a few times between now and October 28.

Mother attended the elementary school which became an old folks home. Some years back, they had to close the old folks home.
