Segregation in Houston was normal in the 1950s and early 1960s.
War has always been normal.
When I arrived as a freshman at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, I got a shock. For the first time in my life I was going to class with black students. I discovered that people in Kansas did things differently than people in Texas.
In January, 1969, I realized that it was not just the Vietnam War was wrong. They are all wrong.
On December 25, 1959, Terry and I were delighted to get a short wave radio for a present. The most fun was listening to Radio Moscow. Few people in the Soviet Union took their propaganda seriously.
The best propaganda is invisible.
I invite you to see this 17 minute presentation to pul back the curtain.
Sincerely,
Ed
