The Google Map photos are something else. They look three dimensional. It is like being there. These places look their best only a few days each year. Most of the time they will look like nothing special. When you drive to these places, hopefully it will be your lucky day.

Weston is a special place with antique shops, restaurants and the museum railroad station. Drive north on MO-273 to Atchison to see especially pretty scenery.
I was a freshman at Benedictine College in 1962 -1963. For the first time in my life I was in class with black people. Within three weeks, I was a changed person. In 1964, I read John Howard Griffin’s book Black Like Me. I changed even more.
When I came to Atchison in 1962 there were tobacco fields around Weston.
